Majilite Medical has a dedicated Research & Development Staff with expertise in current trends in polyurethane chemistry and the application of a variety of polymer coatings.

While knife-over-roll coating represents the predominant method of manufacture for many products, other casting/coating processes are available. Majilite’s equipment handles a variety of solvent based materials and the state-of-the-art incineration system is designed to handle most types of solvents. The system also does coat water based as well as high solids systems. Products can be manufactured up to 64 inches wide.

The casting/coating line drying ovens are heated with a closed loop hot oil system which can take drying temperatures to greater that 190 degrees Celsius. The advantage of the hot oil system is that the product being manufactured is not exposed to the combustion products of a gas fired oven. This can be important for films or composites being manufactured that contain additives sensitive to products of combustion.
